    Abstract
    The paper analyses the law on criminal defamation of the President. It is divided into four chapters. Chapter one gives an introduction of the research topic and forms the foundation of the study. There is also the statement of the problem which has put in perspective the problem, which necessitated the conducting of the research. A justification of the research has been provided. The objectives of the research have also been brought out in chapter 1. Chapter two constitutes a detailed discussion of defamation law. Chapter three looks at both the statutory and case law of defamation. Chapter four constitutes a comparative analysis of defamation law of three jurisdictions namely Australia, the United States of America and the United Kingdom. Chapter five draws the conclusions of the entire study upon which recommendations have been offered.
