Physics is the most fundamental of the Natural Sciences. It is the parent science of Biology, Chemistry, Geology and Engineering, which are but specialisations in areas, which are ultimately a part of Physics. For this reason, the Physics Department occupies an important place in the School of Natural Sciences. A basic level of Physics is required by anyone who wishes to study any science subject or Mathematics. The purpose of the Physics first-year courses is to offer this foundation.en_US
