Abstract
The objective of this study is to compare and contrast the theoretical and practical aspects of the British and Zambian Parliamentary Systems with a view to highlighting:(i) the similarities and differences between the two systems; and (ii)the extent to which the Zambian Parliamentary System has often been confused with the British System in application. In this respect, the study is set out by giving a theoretical point of view of both the British and Zambian Parliamentary Systems in chapter two and then goes to discuss the Zambian system from the practical point of view, highlighting the similarities and differences between the two systems in chapter three. The subject matter of the essay is on the sovereignty and supremacy of parliament, a comparative study of the British and Zambian Parliamentary Systems. This comparison was made possible through personal interviews and evaluation of both parliamentary and judicial records.Recommendations were made possible after making comparisons between findings and theoretical notes.
