In addition, we have all come to appreciate and accept the presence of malls in our neighbourhood because they have become a place where people can shop, eat, meet friends, watch movies and have fun, and visiting malls have become a sort of leisure activity. Therefore, the objective of this research was to explore the effects of shopping malls development on small retailers in Zambia. The sample size comprised of 246 small-scale businesses in the townships were interviewed face to face at their business premises. A questionnaire with a semi-structured interview guideline was used.
